About Us
Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV) is a dynamic Deemed to be University, proud of its modernity, yet rich in educational heritage having two campuses (SBV Main Campus & SBV Chennai Campus). SBV was granted’ Deemed to be University’ status by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, GOI under section 3 of the UGC Act of 1956 in 2008 and accredited by NAAC with ‘A++’ Grade and declared as Category I Deemed to be University by University of Grant Commission. SBV has been successively placed as one among the top 100 Universities in India since 2016 by NIRF – India Rankings.

Area of Excellence
The Medical Simulation Centre approved by American Heart Association, Institute of Health Professions Education offering Masters and Doctoral Programs in Health Education, Institute of Salutogensis and Complementary Medicine offering Postgraduate and Doctoral Programs in Music Therapy and Yoga Therapy. The state-of-the-art Cadaver lab (ASTRA) located at the SBV Chennai campus further enhances the visibility of SBV.
Research Capability and Focus Area
MGM Advanced Research Institute (MGMARI) is an Advanced State-of-the-art research facility established for Medical, Life sciences and Biomedical Research. SBV has got BSL II Lab recognized by NABL, DSIR and ICMR at both of its campuses. Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute, one of the constituent teaching units of SBV was recognized as one of the Clinical Trial Centres for Phase III Clinical trial of COVAXIN during COVID 19 Pandemic. SBV has been accorded 12 B Status which enhances the research frontiers. The Doctoral Programs offered by SBV is evident of its research output. The regular publications by the faculty and the scientists place SBV in the forefront of research.
Academic Facilities
The classrooms are ICT enabled with Lecture Capturing Systems. The Library has collection of 46,477 books 396 national and international journals. E-resources with access to more than 7000 e journals & 10,000 e-books are available.
