About Us
Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu), established on September 20, 1999, embodies the vision of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir to promote sustainable agricultural development. The University is dedicated to producing skilled professionals in agriculture and allied fields, while emphasizing environmental sustainability and biodiversity conservation. The main campus hosts the Faculties of Agriculture, Basic Sciences, Agricultural Engineering, Horticulture & Forestry, and the Institute of Biotechnology. The Faculties of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry and Dairy Technology are located at R.S. Pura. The University also includes nine research stations and nine Krishi Vigyan Kendras, strategically established to serve the diverse agricultural needs of the Jammu region. It offers 06 undergraduate, 40 postgraduate, and 36 doctoral programs, supported by a highly qualified faculty recognized nationally and internationally. The University’s robust infrastructure features advanced labs, smart classrooms, research farms, a digital library, and seamless internet connectivity. It conducts high-impact research funded by various government agencies and has earned accolades for its scientific contributions.
