SAFI Institute of Advanced Study (Autonomous) is one of the premier higher education institutions in Kerala, committed to academic excellence, innovation, and holistic development. Established in 2005 by the Social Advancement Foundation of India (SAFI), a leading charitable trust, the institute has been a beacon of quality education, catering to students from diverse backgrounds.
Affiliated with the University of Calicut and recognized by the Government of Kerala and the University Grants Commission (UGC) under 2(f), SAFI Institute of Advanced Study offers 15 undergraduate and 8 postgraduate programs across Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Social Work, and Media Studies. The institution is AICTE-approved, ISO-certified, and accredited with an A++ grade (3.54) by NAAC in its first cycle (2023). It secured the 19th rank in the College Category of the KIRF 2024 and holds the distinction of being the top-ranked unaided college in Kerala. The institute has also been granted academic autonomy by the UGC for 10 years (2024-2034) and holds Minority Institution status from the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, Government of India. In the year 2025, the institution has granted a research centre from the University of Calicut in the departments of Biotechnology and Microbiology.
Spread over 100+ acres in the picturesque surroundings of Vazhayur, near Ramanattukara, Malappuram District, the college offers a 3 lakh square feet built-up area with modern academic and residential facilities. As a partly residential institution, it provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and supportive living environment.
