About Us
Theivanai Ammal College for Women (Autonomous), established in 1989 in Villupuram, offers quality education focused on “Women Empowerment”. Founded by Thiru E. Swamikkannu, the college is led by Secretary Mr. S. Senthilkumar. The college is affiliated with Annamalai University, Chidambaram and offers 17 UG, 9 PG, and 8 Ph.D. programs across various disciplines. The growth of the institution has gained recognition by UGC under section 2(f) and 12 (B), Autonomous status, and the college holds an ‘A+’ NAAC grade (4th cycle, CGPA 3.29).The institution also collaborates closely with government-led national development initiatives such as AICTE-IIC, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Swachh Bharat, and the National Academic Depository.The college integrates ICT technology with education and curricular reforms to provide updated knowledge to its students.The college offers advanced facilities including smart classrooms, modern labs, libraries, Wi-Fi, solar energy systems, RO Water plant, Gym, cafeteria, escalator, store, hostel, Medical facilities and green initiatives. CCTV camera is set for safety and surveillance. Student Support includes scholarships, mentoring, and transport (21 buses ply on 17 different rural routes). On average, 82 % students go for both higher studies and placement every year in all over India. Strong alumni and community engagement, along with achievements in NCC, NSS, and sports, position the institution for future global recognition as a Women’s University.

Curriculum Development Cell aligns the curriculum with UGC,TANSCHE, UN-SDGs 2030, and NEP 2020guidelines, aiming for integrated education to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education. It promotes lifelong learning,gender equality and Women’s empowerment, and productive employment especially for rural women students. The institution had received research grants from Government such as DST-FIST, TNSCST, ICMR, NCW, UBA, ICSSR and Non-Government organization.A major highlight includes the enhancement of laboratories and the establishment of a Central Instrumentation Facility, funded by DST-FIST with a grant of Rs.45 lakhs.
