About Us
National College founded in the year 1919 is a glorious example of meaningful correlation between dynamism of society and dynamism of education. Sri. R. Venkatraman, the Former President of India; Dr. C. Rengarajan, Former Governor, Reserve Bank of India; and Sri. C.V. Narasimhan, Former Asst. Secretary General, UNO, are a few among the long list of illustrious Alumni of the College. UGC conferred Autonomous Status to the College in 2010 and extended the status till the year 2021-22 recently. UGC also recognized the College as College with Potential for Excellence in 2012. NAAC has re-accredited the College in the 3rd Cycle at 'A+' level with a score of 3.61 CGPA. The College offers 20 UG, 19 PG, 11 M.Phil. and 13 Ph.D. programme in diverse field. With a student strength of 3630 the College is contributing its might to the cause of higher education of the under privileged.

Research Capability and Focus Area
All the PG Departments offer research programmes like MPhil and Ph.D. and conduct sponsored research projects. The areas of focus are Stem cell Biology, Cancer Biology, Bioremediation, Crystal Growth, Plant Tissue Culture, Natural Product, Organic and inorganic synthesis, Nanoparticle synthesis and characterization, Micropalaentology, Remote sensing and Geomorphology.
