About Us

Tatyasaheb Kore Institute of Engineering and Technology (TKIET) was established in 1983 by a Visionary Leader Late Shri. Tatyasaheb Kore and it is a premier technological institute for last 40 years. The institution is awarded ‘A’ grade by NAAC (CGPA 3.27) in recognition of its overall academic excellence and infrastructure. The institute is approved by AICTE, New Delhi; DTE, Maharashtra and permanently affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The Institute is located at Warananagar, 30 km away from Kolhapur a district headquarter, and 10 km to the west from Kini-Wathar on Pune-Bangalore National Highway NH-4.TKIET has emerged as one of the leading technological institutes in Western Maharashtra. The Institute has a Lush-green campus spread over 30 acres in the picturesque foothill of Lord Jyotiba and historical Panhala Fort to the northeast. The institute offers five undergraduate and four postgraduate programs, and the total student strength on campus is around 2500. The institute’s undergraduate programs have been accredited by NBA twice.

Research Capability and Focus Area

Students and faculty are encouraged to undertake research and consultancy projects, particularly those addressing industrial or social problems. The institute has also introduced a subject called "Inquisitive Learning" from the first year onwards, aimed at promoting creative thinking and critical analysis skills among students. Necessary resources are provided to students to support their academic projects, ensuring they have the tools needed to succeed. The Chemical department and Mechanical department hosts a Ph.D. research center approved by Shivaji University, Kolhapur, highlighting the institute's commitment to advanced research and academic excellence. Additionally, several departments offer PG programs and maintain research laboratories equipped with infrastructure and resources to support student research endeavors. Each department receives annual development funds to upgrade their respective lab., ensuring that the infrastructure remains modern & conducive to research activity
