About Us

“Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology”, Modipuram, Meerut was established vide notification no. 3204-A/12-8-2000-400{96}99, Lucknow: Dated 27 September, 2000 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh under The UTTAR PRADESH (KRISHI EVAM PRODYOGIK VISHWAVIDYALAYA ADHINIYAM 1958) for education, research and extension in the field of Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences, Biotechnology, and Engineering. It is included in the list of recognized Universities by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Govt. of India. The University offers Bachelor's Degree courses in 08 disciplines, i.e., Agriculture, Horticulture, Biotechnology, Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Veterinary Sciences, Sugarcane Science & Technology and Postgraduate's Degree in 08 disciplines of Agriculture, 03 disciplines of Horticulture, 16 disciplines of Veterinary Sciences, 01 discipline of Agricultural Engineering, and in 01 discipline of Biotechnology. The University has full-fledged facilities for doctoral work and currently offers in 07 disciplines of Agriculture, 03 disciplines of Horticulture, 16 disciplines of Veterinary Sciences, 01 discipline of Biotechnology and 01 in Agricultural Engineering. The University admits students in all courses through the Joint Entrance Examination Uttar Pradesh Combined Agriculture & Technology Entrance Test (UPCATET) conducted all over Uttar Pradesh. 15% of the total intake capacity is filled through ICAR and other national and international agencies.

Economic and environmental sustainable agriculture, Women empowerment and farmers participatory approaches, Organic farming, climate resilient agriculture, Sensor technology and IOT in agriculture and water management, Sustainable agri-food systems, etc.
