About Us
The Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon established on 15th August 1990 under the Maharashtra Universities Act, XXIX of 1989, started its academic and administrative functioning from the academic year 1991-92. There are 219 affiliated colleges and 4 University recognized Research Institutes/Centres under the jurisdiction of the university. Jalgaon is a unique and captivating place in Maharashtra state, and the University is a key part of its charm. Apart from many other tourist places, Jalgaon has a world heritage site “Ajanta Caves” excavated out of a vertical cliff above the left bank of the river Waghora in the hills of Ajanta. The first Buddhist cave monuments at Ajanta date from the 2nd and 1st centuries B.C. They are thirty in number, including the unfinished ones.
