Jain Deemed-to-be University was conferred the deemed-to-be university status in 2008 and commenced its academic programmes in 2009. The University thrives on a vision to ‘Foster Human Development through Excellence in Quality Education, Research and Entrepreneurial Development’. Ranked among the 20 top Universities in India, Jain Deemed-to-be University has demonstrated its excellence in its growing student body and staff members. The University is accredited by UGC and NAAC as an ‘A’ Grade University. Jain Deemed-to-be University is spread across five campuses and has established six Faculties. The University offers Research, Postgraduate and Undergraduate programmes in all the Faculties- the Faculty of Sciences, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Commerce, the Faculty of Management, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and the Faculty of Languages. Each of these Faculties has carved out a niche of its own in its chosen field. The illustrious history of the University speaks for itself. The University began its journey as the Sri Mahaveer Jain College (SBMJC) in 1990 at VV Puram and has now grown into an educational hub with 5000 staff members and seven campuses and centres of excellence. As one of the leading universities in India, it is committed to teaching and research of the highest standards coupled with the holistic development of students. It has redefined teaching pedagogies by introducing value-based education that caters not just to the academic development of students but their mental and physical well-being too. It offers 33 Undergraduate programmes and 45 Postgraduate programmes including four postgraduate diploma programmes. The University has rigorous and well-structured PhD programmes in a wide range of disciplines. Jain Deemed-to-be University heralded the concept of ‘edupreneurship’. It is one of the pioneering universities to encourage entrepreneurship ever since its inception in the 1990s and continues to support enterprises. The University has two incubation centres, Dr Chenraj Roychand Centre for Entrepreneurship and Jain University Incubation Centre and has more than 55 companies incubated under the aegis of these two bodies. Being has gained several recognitions that stand testimony to its achievements in the field of education: the University was ranked 5th among the top private universities, 5th among the top deemed universities in India in the India Today Neilson Best Universities survey, Jain is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) and has been awarded the ISO 9001:2008 certification by TUV Rhineland.

As a ‘campus with a difference’, Jain Deemed-to-be University offers Arts, Commerce, Science and Management stream with a ‘value-added’ component both in terms of the content of education and more importantly in the context of learning.

Research Capability and Focus Area

The University has accorded primacy to research and offers well-structured PhD programmes under all the faculties. Research policy of Jain Deemed-to-be University enables innovative research activities, inter-disciplinary research and intellectual freedom to pursue knowledge in a number of disciplines. All the research and development activities at the University are conducted at the dedicated research centres and various academic departments of the University. At present Jain, Deemed-to-be University has nine dedicated research centres in the areas of Emerging Technologies, Disaster Mitigation, Social Sciences and Education, Cultural Studies, Aerospace Engineering and Management, Indian Psychology, Ancient History, Nano and Material Sciences and Biosciences.
