About Us
Along with existing campus, the parcel of land (125 Acres) which was allocated to us by the Bihar Government for the expansion of our NIT Patna, Bihta campus, the first phase of the developmental work is being carried out on a war-footing to materialise our ambition of creating infrastructure to cater to the needs of 2,500 students. Continues Improvement in NIRF ranking shows our commitment towards development in infrastructure, research activities, teaching quality etc. (182 (2018) -> 134 ((2019) -> 92 (2020) -> 72 (2021) -> 63 (2022) -> 56 (2023).

Research Capability and Focus Area
In 2023, 6 faculty members were ranked among 2% scientist in the world by Stanford University. Every year NIT Patna publishes more than 800 research papers in International Conference and SCI/SCOPUS Journals in each year. (International Conference: 220; SCI/SCOPUS Journals: 615 in Academic Session 2022-23). IPR cell has been established. As a result, Faculty and Research scholars are publishing many patents every year. In Academic session 2022-23, 86 patent published and 24 patents are granted. Last year (Dec 2023), the number was 103 PhD Degree along with 200 M.Tech and 900 B.Tech degree. In Academic session 2022-23, nearly 60 FDP/STC were conducted on cutting edges technologies under agies of E&ICT, GIAN, ISEA project etc. Currently nearly 34 research projects of DST/DRDO/ISRO/BARC etc. are active.
