Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology & Research (VFSTR) i.e., Vignan’s University established in the Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh, India has evolved from the erstwhile Vignan’s Engineering College of high standards working since 1997 that earned NBA and NAAC accreditation with ‘A+’ grade. After establishing its quality credentials from the start, Vignan’s University attained the deemed-to-be university status in 2008 under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956. The University has been accredited by NAAC (Govt. of India) with ‘A+’ Grade and ranked 72nd by NIRF (Ministry of Human Resource, Govt. of India) Vignan’s University is one of the few institutions in the country which has established its strong foot hold at all levels catering to the needs of the various sections of the student community. The Vignan Group with a network of 20 schools, 07 +2 Level Colleges, 01 UG & PG college, 01 B.Ed. College, 03 Pharmacy Colleges, 06 Engineering colleges and 01 University (the flagship of Vignan Group) with 2 campuses spread over the two states of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana is promoting high standards in the education sector and brought about a dramatic change in the socio-economic dynamics of the region. Supported by the Vignan Group that is serving the educational needs of 60,000 students of different layers and levels, Vignan’s University is making giant strides in the right direction through implementation of various good practices like student-centric approach, effective teaching – learning methods, close monitoring and innovative management style, the institution has been winning laurels both at national as well as at international level. So far 15,800 students have been awarded degrees up to 2024 thereby uplifting the social status of that many families in this part of the region. As on date more than 500 students from 20 countries (More than 300 students from Africa) pursuing various courses from Diploma to Ph.d Level.

Research Capability and Focus Area

Vignan’s University teaching staff & students together published more than 6000 research papers in SCOPUS, SCI, and other reputed indexed journals in the last 5 years. Centre of Excellences established in the areas - Software-Defined Radios, Robotics, Drones, Bio-medical Signal processing, Low power VLSI design, Bio-Diesel Synthesis, Hybrid Vehicles, Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, Internet of Things (IoT). 19 Inter Disciplinary research centres were established in association with relevant industry’s. As on date filed more than 200 patents and got approx. USD 6 Million worth of funding for various research projects.
