About Us
1.The National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE) was established as an autonomous Institute in 1987 in Hyderabad by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India to strengthen Agricultural Extension System in the country to address the challenges in a rapidly growing and diverse agriculture sector.
MANAGE is a pioneering institution in agricultural extension management on a global scale, with a mission to impart managerial and technical skills to professionals in the agriculture & allied sectors. Additionally, it serves as a think tank for the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India, providing valuable inputs on matters pertaining to agricultural extension, policy advocacy, and research.
Area of Excellence
MANAGE provides assistance to the Governments in enhancing the delivery of agricultural extension and advisory services to the farmers. It conducts training programmes for national and international stakeholders, engages in action research, advocates for policies, implements Government schemes, provides agri-business education, facilitates agri-startup development, and offers consultancy services.
Research Capability and Focus Area
3.Broad themes of research capabilities of MANAGE are climate change, food and nutritional security, linking farmers to markets through FPOs, role of agri-preneurs in extension, ICT applications in agriculture, leveraging value chains in agriculture & allied sectors, etc.
Academic Facilities
MANAGE has well-furnished blocks consisting of office buildings, faculty rooms, training halls, classrooms, hostels for trainees and students, international guest house, library, computer centre, MOOCs Lab and health centre.
