About Us
Muthayammal College of Arts and Science was established in 1994. It sounds pleasant to specify that the college has been feathered with NAAC ‘A’ grade and 2(f) and 12(B) status. It is an autonomous self-finance college affiliated with Periyar University in Salem, Tamil Nadu, India.
The institute offers 21 undergrads, 10 postgraduates, and 5 Ph.D. research programs through the respective departments. Besides, the college has signed MOUs with 42 industries and institutes for the students's and faculty's skill development. Our college stands at the top with a crown studded with 137 gold medals and 814 (since 2003) ranks in the Periyar University examinations.
The college has participated in the India Today-MMDRA national ranking for the past three years in a row. The college has performed in the three categories of Best Science College, Best BCA Department, and Best Commerce Department. The college has secured its rank consecutively for three years. In the academic year 2022–23, the college has secured 129th rank in the best science college category, 76th rank in the best BCA department category, and 150th rank in the best commerce department category.
The college has tied up with Internshala, which is an online platform providing online internships for students. Besides, Internshala ranks the college based on the students' internship performance. Our college has secured the 11th rank at the all-India level and the 3rd rank at the zonal level for the academic year 2023.

Research Capability and Focus Area
The Department of Biotechnology and the Ministry of Science and Technology recognized our college with the “STAR SCHEME” cap, and five departments have been sheltered under the star scheme. We focused on research paper publication, receiving grants from the government, and consulting services.
