About Us
The M.I.E.T. Society, founded by Er. A. Mohamed Yunus during the year 1984, offers a high quality holistic education in an underdeveloped rural and semi-urban region of Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. The society’s members include leading Industrialists, Educationists and Philanthropists.
M.I.E.T. Engineering College was established by the Mohamed Institute of Education & Technology Society, Tiruchirappalli in the year 1998 with an objective to promote the cause of higher education. The College is Autonomous and it is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. M.I.E.T. Engineering College offers 8 UG programmes and 5 PG programmes in Engineering apart from a PG programme in management studies. Mechanical Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering departments are also offers Ph.D. programme. The college is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The college is accredited by NAAC with A+ grade in the first cycle and recognized by UGC under section 2f and 12(B) of UGC act 1956.An ISO 9001-2015 certified institution has 3 NBA Accredited UG programmes namely Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering.
Area of Excellence
Centre of excellence were established in all the departments in collaboration with leading industrial giants through functional MoU’s National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), BSNL, SIEMENS, Ashok Leyland. The established centers of excellence acts as a technical hub to expose and consolidate the innovative and entrepreneurial skills of the students.

The college has the capability of carrying out academic research in all the departments and primarily focuses on smart materials, renewable energy, Material joining, Robotics, Smart grid, MEMS and NEMS, Nano technology, Automations, Distributed computing, cloud computing, Radio Active materials, E-Waste Management
