For over five decades, BIT Mesra (located 16 kms from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand) has been engaged in nurturing minds through a rich heritage of academic excellence. A bustling hub of student activities, the beautiful green campus has been a second-home to thousands of students in their journey for their 3-dimensional growth and prosperity. Established in 1955 by visionary-industrialist Mr. B.M. Birla, it is today one of the premier engineering destinations in India. The Institute attained the status of a Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, in 1986. It is a full member of the Association of Indian Universities and the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
