SII Program

If you are appearing for the PRAGATII examination to secure a Study in India Scholarship, and you are nervous about the upcoming examination - Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with our expert tips!

In a nut-shell, PRAGATII is a 90-minute online proctored examination in English, which is distributed into three sections, namely - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and Logical Reasoning. The exam has 90 questions, each scored at 1 mark, resulting in a total of 90 marks. This means that if you answer a question correctly, then you score 1 mark. Since there is no negative marking, no marks are deducted for an incorrect answer.

In this article, we help you with expert tips for a smart approach to practice and appear for the PRAGATII examination.

Organise your study space

It is crucial to be in an amiable environment where you feel comfortable, enthusiastic, and determined. For effective and quality studying, ensure you are in an environment with little to no distractions. According to Harvard University’s The Derek Bok Centre for Teaching and Learning, mobile phones are typically a distraction, reducing the attention span of a student. Organise your space with refreshments and the necessary materials required to study.

Allocate time with a set target in mind

As suggested by Monash University, timetables help prepare better and manage time effectively. Build a timetable or a study schedule to gauge the time needed to prepare for the PRAGATII exam. Set goals to achieve on a short-term and long-term basis. Arrange three different plans as you progress in your preparation - study plan, practice plan, and revision plan. Work out a practical schedule where you give yourself time to break, relax, and rejuvenate.

Plan Smart

For an examination such as the PRAGATII which is online proctored and timed, it is important to plan your strategy for the exam day. The Verbal Reasoning section has 40 questions, while 25 questions each are allocated to Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning sections. Refer mock tests and previous PRAGATII examinations to quantify the contents of each topic as given in the syllabus and plan your preparation, appropriately.

Time is key

Keep a flexible strategy for a realistic goal that is result-focused and time-bound. Given that there are 90 questions to be answered in 90 minutes, you have to prioritise sections according to your comfort level. For example, if you are confident with Verbal Reasoning, complete the section and move onto the next. Note that you can always toggle back to unanswered questions within the stipulated time. We suggest you practise time management with PRAGATII sample & mock tests.

Train your mind to think logically

Find a way to strengthen your cognitive abilities to save and manage time productively. Find ways to do a mental calculation of problems. Make a conscious effort to avoid using a paper for calculation, unless required. Understand the meaning of words contextually and give synonyms and antonyms correspondingly. Train yourself to identify keywords in a paragraph and then comprehend it better with the help of the question given. Train your mind to assimilate various types of Venn diagrams. Remember, in a time-bound examination such as PRAGATII, every minute counts.
