The Indian education system is the world’s third-largest higher education system with over 800 universities, 39,000 colleges, and strength of an estimated 20 million students. But what makes the Indian education system unique is not its sheer size but the several talented minds that it has fostered since its inception. Some of these amazing students have since become stalwarts globally, especially in the IT field.

Sundar Pichai

Google CEO, Sundar Pichai, is one of the most renowned tech-heads globally. He is a distinguished alumnus from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, where he studied Metallurgical Engineering. On completing his education, he rose the ranks in Google, to the position we all know him for.

 

 

 

Satya Nadella

The next one on the list is Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft. Born in Hyderabad, he attended the prestigious Hyderabad Public School in Begumpet, Hyderabad. Following this, he earned a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering at Manipal Institute of Technology in 1988. Before being an integral part of Microsoft, he worked at Sun Microsystems.

 

Shantanu Narayen 

Shantanu Narayen, President & COO of Adobe, was born & raised in Hyderabad. Like the others on the list, he did his primary studies in India & earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from University College of Engineering, Osmania University.

 

Rajeev Suri

Lastly, we have Rajeev Suri, an Indian–Singaporean business executive and the CEO of Nokia. He is one of the only two non-Finnish CEOs of Nokia. The best part? He was an alumnus of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education.
